The E4OD replaced the C-6 transmission in 1989. The transmission is a four speed electronic controled transmission. The transmission is available with aluminum or steel planetary gears. This transmission often fails because of a bad snap ring. We upgrade the snap rings and offer the Transgo Tugger shift kit for heavy towing. This transmission is well equiped to handle a load, the shifting is controlled by a solenoid pack in the valve body.
The 4R100 replaced the E4OD in 1998. The 4R100 appears different on the outside only due to the locations of the speed sensors, other than this it is difficult to tell. Only a few parts where changed or added on the inside of the unit, but most parts aren't interchangeable. The 4R100 is a more durable transmission than its predecessor.
1st Gear Ratio 2.7:1
2nd Gear Ratio 1.5:1
3rd Gear Ratio 1:1
4th Gear Ratio .70:1

The 4R100 is an updated version of the E4OD. The speed sensor locations are one noticeable difference.
